O verbo to be significa "ser" e "
estar". O verbo to be varia de pessoa para pessoa no
presente e no passado, mas é uma exceção. As pessoas (pronomes pessoais) em
inglês são, no singular: I, you, he, she, it (eu, você, ele, ela,
ele/ela para o que não é pessoa). No plural: we, you, they (nós, vocês,
eles/elas).

Quando se fala de maneira informal, o verbo to be pode
ser contraído (assim como fazemos quando usamos tá ao invés
de está, por exemplo):
I am > I’m
you are > you’re
he is > he’s
she is > she’s
it is > it’s
we are > we’re
they are > they’re
I am > I’m
you are > you’re
he is > he’s
she is > she’s
it is > it’s
we are > we’re
they are > they’re
Na negativa, podemos só acrescentar not ou
contrair:
are not = aren’t
is not = isn’t
were not = weren’t
was not = wasn’t
are not = aren’t
is not = isn’t
were not = weren’t
was not = wasn’t
Para conjugação no futuro usamos: "will be" (afirmativo) e "won't be" (negativo). Perguntas usamos Will - sujeito - be, ex: Will she be here tomorrow? (Ela estará aqui amanhã?). E é usado para todos os pronomes (I-he-she-it-you-we-they).
